Women are renowned for wearing a hair band around their wrist. It’s an age-old habit that puts convenience before cool. With our latest creation, DoubleWear hitting Boots stores this month, everyone’s hair essential can now be cleverly disguised as an item of jewellery. Available in silver or gold, DoubleWear comes in a stylish bracelet or necklace design. Bracelets morph into hair elastics and necklaces become headbands….why did no one think of this earlier?
The DoubleWear elastics can be stacked on the wrist for an on-trend look, or even disguised amongst a flurry of fashion-forward bangles. Once in the hair, the simplistic gold or silver designs look sophisticated- bearing no resemblance to their earlier “bracelet” form.

Frizzy festival hair is set to become a thing of the past as the nifty DoubleWear necklaces can push hair back in an instant, preventing it from falling in your face so you can let go on the dance floor. Again, each pack in this style comes with a gold or silver option. Why not wear both together for an eclectic boho look?
At a purse friendly £3.75 each, with an added multi-purpose bonus, can you really afford not to buy? Convenience has never been so chic!

Goody At New York Fashion Week SS12
September 26th, 2011Goody Barrettes are fast becoming a fashion week staple, following the success of the looks created by Guido Palau at the AW11 shows. The classic metal Barrettes were used to style hair for both Marc by Marc Jacobs and Victoria Beckham at NYFW SS12.
Marc By Marc Jacobs: ‘It’s a bit of a departure for Marc’, says Guido, ‘it’s more grown-up this season with an actual up-do instead of leaving it loose and or just a simple pony’. To achieve the desired look, Palau folded the lengths of a ponytail upward, securing it with a silver Goody Barrette. The lengths were then flipped back over the base and secured around the mid section with another Goody Barrette. “It’s girly but sophisticated,” said Palau.
Victoria Beckham: Guido created a Catherine Deneuve inspired half up-half down style, which he secured using a Goody Barrette. The look channelled elegance with a masculine twist. The simplicity of the Barrettte perfectly reflected Victoria Beckham’s sophisticated collection.
Both of these looks are wearable ways to keep up with the fashion pack. You can get the New York Fashion week look for just £2.19!
Goody at House of Holland
September 26th, 2011
After New York comes London, where Goody Barrettes were a hair highlight. At House Of Holland Adam Reed & Paul Percival sprayed each Barrette a rose gold, matching them to the heels of the Nicholas Kirkwood shoes. Henry Holland named his SS12 collection Pastel Punks, taking inspiration from the skinheads and punks of the late 1970’s & 80’s. The hair mirrored Henry’s inspiration perfectly as it was smoothed into a “mod finish”.
“The look was extremely fluid, with the hair flowing straight down past the nape of the neck. Some barrettes would have been too heavy and we really didn’t want to break the flow of the perfectly straightened hair. The Goody Barrettes sat beautifully against the shape of the head, keeping the look smooth and unaffected. The Barrettes have such an expensive look about them, who would have guessed they are £2.19 from Morrisons!?”

Vintage Fever Sweeps Through the Nation
September 9th, 2011
There is a feeling of retro glamour in the air as once again vintage fever sweeps across the beauty pages. Perfectly placed bejewelled slides and clips are having a major style moment! Celebrities continue to jump onto the fashion trend lead by Paloma Faith and Caro Emerald, each inspired by the looks of days gone by.
For those who aren’t so brave with vintage, there is the beauty option. Jessica Alba has recently been spotted adorning her hair with a vintage necklace, ensuring the look was truly authentic! To replicate this style without the help of a celeb super stylist, look no further than the Goody’s Jewel Flower Bobby Pins. Their matte effect metal and black luxurious stones create a feeling of true elegance (not bad for £2.69). If a bit of bling is more your thing, turn to the Jewel Slide Pin for a more polished take on retro glam. Simply sweep yourself a side parting and secure, or add a touch of glamour to an up-do.
She may be bad but she’s perfectly Goody with hair!

The New Pony Club
August 8th, 2011
The topknot has ruled for too long and there’s a new up-do ready to steal its crown….welcome “the catwalk ponytail”. As a flurry of models walked the fashion week shows sporting bouncy, immaculate ponytails, Autumn/Winter 11’s hottest hairstyle was born. Dubbed as the must-have style for Autumn, this perfectly groomed pony had already secured its place in the pages of our favourite glossy mags. However, in a bid to be ahead of the fashion pack, celebs everywhere have caught on to Autumn’s hottest trend before the Summer sun has even set! Cue the rise of the catwalk ponytail.
The Autumn/Winter pony is a contradiction of it’s summery predecessors. After a season of casual curls and tousled tresses, the catwalk pony is here to bring back a touch of girly sophistication. Already seen on celebs from Kim Kardashian to Emma Roberts, this feminine, flirty style is both on trend and flattering. The trick to mastering the look is the tools you use to create it. Follow these three simple steps to create the ultimate catwalk ponytail with Goody:
- Blow dry hair using the Start, Style, Finish Ouchless Hot Round Brush. This will ensure that the lengths of the hair swing with luxurious quality, adding to the expensive look of the style
- Slick hair back into a high ponytail at the crown of the head using the Boar Blends Smoothing Brush. Secure your pony with a Goody StayPut Elastic, these elastics will keep your new trend led style in place all day
- Finally wrap a thin piece of hair around the elastic adding a final touch of quality to the look
Goody Spin Pin featured on Lorraine TV Show
July 22nd, 2011
The Spin Pin from Goody is fast becoming the must-have hair tool of the season, even winning over top celebrity hairdresser Richard Ward (chief stylist to none other than Kate Middleton).
On yesterday’s Lorraine TV show, Richard recommended the Spin Pin to the nation and also demonstrated it’s ability to “create up-do’s & bun’s with convenience”.
You can see the Spin Pin in action here:

We were also loving the sparkling head piece trend picked up by Richard, especially the look seen on Jessica Alba. Her jewel adorned topknot was reminiscent of that of a Disney princess. We’ll be lining our topknot’s with Jewel Flower Bobby Pins from now on.
Hair Heroines
July 11th, 2011Celebrity hair trends come & go but there are some star styles that have the entire nation flocking to their dressing table. Over the years, sought after styles have become so iconic they even have their own name! Here are our fave hair icons, but do you agree?
Jennifer Aniston
Named after her much-loved character in Friends, “the Rachel” became the most coveted look of the nineties. Bouncy, layered and blow-dried to within an inch of its life, this style was infamous enough to be given it’s own Wikipedia site!
Victoria Beckham
Victoria rocked the hair world when she stepped out with the now infamous Pob. Copied by wannabe WAGs and fashionistas alike this cropped style, had it-girls flocking to the salon ready for the chop.
Cheryl Cole
Nobody does volume like Cheryl, and it was her body-beautiful lengths that had everyone reaching for the clip-in extentions. Backcombing and blowdrying were back in Vogue and a new height was created for hair.
But who is the hair icon of 2011?
Kate Middleton
The ever-immaculate Duchess of Cambridge has us all lusting after her perfectly polished look. It may look as simple as a luxurious blowdry, but her gloriously glossy tresses have us reaching for the rollers every time.
