SAG Awards

January 30th, 2012

It seems celebrities are already practicing for Valentine’s Day! At last night’s SAG Awards a flurry of actresses completed their pretty polished looks with preened princess worthy tresses.

Braids, as seen on Kaley Cuoco & Dianna Agron, appeared to be the trend of the evening. Worn across the front of the head, to create a headband/halo effect, these plaits created dreamy, fairytale hair. To stop the look from become too structured, both girls allowed gentle, romantic curls to fall loose around the face.

Buns & ponytails were a style staple as usual, but this time they were worn low and loose. Flattering to most face shapes, these pretty yet relaxed up-do’s perfectly reflected the array of pink, shimmery make-up.

We can’t wait to try these romantic styles at home. Cupid can’t come quick enough!

Goody’s Golden Girls

January 23rd, 2012

Its one of the most anticipated events in showbiz, and with the arrival of the annual Golden Globes comes an array of new hairstyles to covet. This year’s awards caused yet another media frenzy and as starlets stormed the red carpet in the most desirable of dresses, there was only one thing on our mind …who won gold for hair?

Angelina Jolie kept it classic, opting for a sleek yet simple up-do, secured at the crown of her head. To add an exciting touch to an otherwise predictable style, Angelina’s hair was braided into a figure of eight style bun. Paired with an elegant gown and pillar box red lip, this style perfectly reflected her grown up glamorous look.

Nicole Richie was a little more daring. Her bouffant style pony had us all wondering just where she was hiding her elastic? Lifting the hair from behind the ears upwards, gives the face an automatic lift (cheekbones anyone?). Nicole kept this look playful by letting her golden locks flow down from above her pony – Magical!

Dianna Agron’s tousled side swept up-do definitely got a gold from us! Flattering as a quiff, but requiring much less structure, this is a style that we can’t wait to wear! By adding beachy texture to the lengths of hair before sweeping upwards, Dianna created a unique tousled up-do, which was both sexy and sweet all at the same time. We love!

News “Just in”?

January 13th, 2012

The latest star to sport paint pop locks? Disney teen sensation, Selena Gomez! Stepping away from her usual (and perhaps a tad predictable) brown glossy mane, Selena added a splash of colour by tinting the ends of her hair both blue & purple!  Making sure the paparazzi didn’t beat her to the news, Selena took to Twitter to show off her new crayola inspired locks saying:

“Change is good… My girls @ninezeroone take care of me always :) LOVE”

Selena joins a whole host of celebs in the colour craze, which started back in 2011. We can’t help wondering what Justin thinks of the more adventurous Selena?

January Gym

January 6th, 2012

January = gym time. After a season of over indulgence and partying, the start of a new year is always the time to get fit. Gyming it is no idea of “fun” for most of us, and the dreaded work out is only made worse by frizzy hair falling in our faces. Fancy making your gym sesh a bit more fashion friendly? Goody is on hand to make sure you look stylish as you sweat it out on the treadmill.

The holy grail of hair bands for a pony that stays put are the Goody Slide Proof Elastics. Coveted by beauty editors and hair stylists alike, these clever little bands mean that you won’t have to waste those precious calorie burning seconds adjusting your top knot.  We challenge you to make one of these secure holding bands slide out (we know we’ll win!).

If it’s a fringe or shorter pieces of hair that fall in your face, look no further than the Goody Slide Proof Headwraps. Available in a range of colours, these slide proof headbands sit seamlessly at the front of the hair and do not budge!  Wear with a pony, an up-do or even leave hair loose – just make sure these handy bands are always in your gym kit.

At the end of a busy day, the last thing you want to do is create a gym worthy bun using a whole pack of bobby pins. But what if just one pin could hold up your whole head of hair….oh wait a minute…it can. Compact enough to tuck neatly into your kit but strong enough to hold your bun in, the Spin Pin has the hold of 20 bobby pins! Now a top knot can be created in just one spin.

So no more excuses – the gym awaits you.
